One might wonder what prompted Ms. Bratton to embark on this journey to start an international organization. The answer lies in her passion for global humanity.
In January 2005, Ms. Bratton signed up to volunteer with the Institute for International Cooperation & Development (IICD). IICD is a 501(c)(3) organization that trains individuals to take part in development and community work projects in Africa and South America.
Ms. Bratton chose Chipata, Zambia to perform her volunteer work. While in Chipata for more than four months, Ms. Bratton witnessed first hand the plight of the people of Chipata, which caused her to reflect on the plight of her people in the United States and the need for some type of program that assisted the community with economic self-sufficiency, community engagement and personal character building.
